| Description |
- This pair of original 1940’s ladies’ shoes was worn by the character Eva Peron portrayed by actress Madonna in the 1996 motion picture “Evita”
- The open toed champagne satin pumps with buckled ankle straps have champagne and gold mesh strap vamps and have three-inch heels with leather soles
- These shoes were most likely worn with one of the many summer dresses or the beaded sheath dress worn during the Rainbow tour in Rome
- In order to hide Madonna’s pregnancy during filming, shots were tight whenever possible, and shots of her feet are brief and rare outside of a dance number
- These shoes also appear in a shot during the musical number “Rainbow High” as Eva tries on shoes
- The asset is accompanied by a letter of authenticity verifying their use by Madonna in the production from the costume house
- Evita is the Oscar-winning film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage musical based on the life of Eva Perón
- Directed by Alan Parker and starring Madonna, Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Pryce, it was released on December 25, 1996 and grossed $50,047,179 in the U.S. box office and $143 million worldwide
- The film received a warm reception from many critics
- It was nominated for five Academy Awards and won the award for "Best Song" for "You Must Love Me"
- Evita also had five Golden Globe nominations and three wins (Best Picture - Comedy or Musical; Best Original Song, "You Must Love Me"; and Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical, Madonna) and was one of the National Board of Review's Top Ten Films of the Year
